Lumber
Wood from the center of America.
Nebraska sits in the middle of the country. The walnut, oak, and ash we put on a dining table grew here — fence rows, farmsteads, a storm that took a tree down. By 2027 we will saw and dry that lumber ourselves. The story of where it came from already goes home with every set. Soon that story will start on 4th Street.
Origin
Not a board with no name.
A black walnut from a Polk County fence line sits next to white oak that came down in a wind. Ash from a farmstead east of town. We keep what we can: species, county, how it fell, who called us. That is the origin — not a bin at a dealer three states away.
When the dining set leaves, a card goes with it. The wood’s name. Where it grew. How it was dried. What it became. By 2027 that card will start at our own mill.

A hydraulic portable sawmill. The log goes on the bunks. We open it here — walnut, oak, ash — instead of buying a board that already forgot the tree. Coming to 4th Street.
